Common Questions

Questions, answered.

Is semaglutide covered by insurance?
Our semaglutide program is a transparent self-pay service, so there are no insurance hoops or prior authorizations. Each monthly price covers your follow-up visit and that round of medication together.
How does pricing work for name-brand GLP-1s?
If you prefer a name-brand GLP-1, you pay for your office visit and the prescription is sent to your pharmacy. The cost of the medication itself is set by your pharmacy and insurance, not by us. If your insurance requires a prior authorization, an additional fee may apply for the time involved in completing it.
Do I have to live in Fort Washington?
No. This is a statewide telehealth program serving patients anywhere in Maryland. You just need to be physically located in Maryland at the time of your visit.
How does the medication reach me?
After your consult and baseline labs, your medication ships directly to your door from our trusted partner pharmacy. No pharmacy trips required.
Are lab tests required?
Yes. A one-time lab panel (A1c and TSH) is part of intake, billed separately at $75. Existing labs within the last three months are accepted.
What are the common side effects?
The most common side effects are nausea, reduced appetite, and digestive changes, which usually ease as your body adjusts. Our care team titrates your dose slowly to minimize them.
What happens if I stop taking it?
Semaglutide works while you take it. Our care team helps you build sustainable habits and discusses a long-term plan so your results last.
